Safety teams are often short on resources, especially when managing large, dispersed driver fleets with limited time and headcount. Without tools to help scale efficiently, safety efforts can be inconsistent across locations and leads managers to waste time coaching lower-risk drivers. This also leaves them scrambling to provide effective coaching on the most important behaviors.
Samsara now offers Safety Coaching for Lean Teams, a new set of opt-in, customizable features that help lean safety teams scale driver coaching and recognition with AI and automation. Designed to empower safety managers to focus limited time and resources on the highest-risk drivers and behaviors, Safety Coaching for Lean Teams automatically assesses risk for each safety event based on factors like severity, frequency, driving time, and driver safety score. Samsara then automatically triages low-severity safety events to drivers for self-review and escalates high-risk events to managers for hands-on coaching. Fleets can use out-of-the-box Samsara automations or customize automation workflows to align with organizational priorities.
In addition, group coaching tools allow organizations to see trends across groups of drivers and create group coaching presentations in several clicks–empowering them to scale coaching without having to scale the size of their safety teams. Early beta customers have already seen significant time savings for safety teams, improved coaching efficiency and consistency, and reductions in unsafe driving behaviors.
These updated coaching features will be generally available around the globe this summer. Click here to learn more.
<div id="ai-multicam"></div>
Today's fleets face a growing road crisis. Over the last decade, fatal truck crashes have risen 40%, while insurance premiums are rising. Fleets need advanced tools to prevent crashes and clear evidence to resolve disputes when they do occur.
AI Multicam provides real-time, 360° visibility in and around the vehicle from up to four additional HD video streams—for a total of six with an AI Dash Cam and Multicam—as well as optional audio. In addition to extended visibility and HD clarity, AI Multicam extends AI detections, such as Pedestrian Collision Warning, to side and rear camera streams for the first time. Drivers get an in-cab monitor that shows a view from all cameras in real time, which means they can see in blind spots, in the rear of the truck, and more.
Samsara cameras are small and unobtrusive, which means organizations can place them wherever makes the most sense for their business, on the pickup arm of a garbage truck, for example, or inside a passenger transit bus. Customers are also free to use Samsara cameras or third-party cameras of their choice.
With AI Multicam, retrieving footage is also easier and more customizable than ever. Admins can select which streams and which audio to download, allowing organizations to prevent severe accidents and costly equipment damage while helping them resolve incidents faster, exonerate drivers, and reduce insurance claims costs.
AI Multicam will be generally available later this summer around the globe. Click here to learn more.
<div id="samsara-wearable"></div>
When frontline workers step out of their vehicles to do their jobs, they face diverse risks. Slips, falls, aggressive encounters, severe weather, or even working alone—each of these can lead to an emergency situation that organizations need to respond to, fast. Building on our track record of success helping customers improve driver safety, we're excited to introduce Samsara's Worker Safety tools, including the new Samsara Wearable.
Worker Safety allows organizations to get immediate help to frontline employees when they need it. Workers can trigger an SOS with a single click in the Samsara Driver App or Wearable, and context-rich insights (audio memo, real-time location, live stream from vehicle, and ability to see nearby drivers and vehicles since all the data is on one dashboard) gives managers the information they need to take action on the SOS and route to emergency services if needed.
Organizations can also monitor worker safety. If an employee has been idle too long or isn’t responding, managers can schedule or send a check-in to the Samsara Driver App to ensure workers are safe. If a worker doesn’t respond, an SOS incident is created and managers are alerted. Moreover, organizations can alert groups of workers about threats, such as hazardous weather, directly in cab or in the Samsara Driver App.
The Samsara Wearable offers protection no matter where an employee is working. A lightweight, ruggedized device, the Wearable easily clips to personal protective equipment. It can automatically detect falls, and gives workers the opportunity to cancel if an incident is a false positive. If not, workers can record a memo (for example, "Help, I've fallen!"), which automatically creates an SOS incident and sends an alert to a manager.
In addition, the Samsara Wearable provides context-rich insights about an incident—such as real-time location, vehicle livestream, and audio recordings—to help administrators send help quickly. The device connects to Samsara’s Network of connected Vehicle and Asset Gateways, and offers more than a year of battery life.
Whether in-cab, in the Driver App, or equipped with the Wearable, Samsara’s Worker Safety tools provide proactive alerts and seamless communication, improving safety and providing peace of mind to admins and frontline employees alike.
Worker Safety will be generally available around the globe later this summer. The Samsara Wearable will be generally available in North America later this year. Click here to learn more.
<div id="weather-intelligence"></div>
Unpredictable or extreme weather—such as heavy rains, floods, or severe winds—can be a significant threat to fleet safety. In fact, over 20% of vehicle crashes are caused by bad weather, along with a host of other serious issues, including costly delays, supply chain disruptions, and more.
Weather Intelligence enables organizations to respond to bad weather proactively, helping fleets keep drivers and equipment safe. With information from the National Weather Service integrated into the Samsara dashboard, fleet managers can anticipate and plan for severe weather. If a driver enters a public alert zone, managers can send out instant in-cab alerts to warn them and advise them on what action to take.
Moreover, Weather Intelligence uses the power of the Samsara Network to allow organizations to view external Dash Cam footage from any connected vehicles in affected areas to see real-time conditions on the ground. With the ability to see developing weather threats and alert drivers in real time, organizations can make smarter, faster decisions that enhance driver safety and ensure operational continuity.
Weather map overlays are available now, and other Weather Intelligence features will be generally available in the US later this year.
When a crash or injury occurs, managing the incident from when it happens to when it's resolved can be challenging. Investigators often struggle with scattered data across multiple platforms, leading to delays, incomplete reporting, and increased administrative burden. This complexity can make it difficult to get a holistic understanding of incidents quickly and efficiently.
Incident Management provides a unified platform to manage incidents of all types, including vehicle, workplace, environmental, and more. It uses rich data from Samsara—such as Dash Cam video, driver history, vehicle diagnostics, weather, and location—and integrates third-party documents into a single source of truth. Incident Management offers AI-assisted reporting, using the data collected by incident managers and Samsara to draft common regulatory reporting, significantly reducing manual effort and accelerating reporting. Moreover, the solution allows organizations to assign and track corrective actions, giving them the ability to connect incident resolution to the rest of the Samsara platform, including training, coaching, updating qualifications, and more.
Moreover, by consolidating this comprehensive data in one place, Incident Management helps organizations analyze data to identify patterns, trends, and underlying root causes across the entire fleet to help lower risk and prevent future incidents, as well as reduce insurance costs and ensure compliance with key regulatory bodies, such as OSHA and DOT.
Incident Management will be generally available around the globe later this year.
For fleets, managing qualifications like drivers’ licenses, endorsements, vehicle permits and more can be time-consuming and prone to error. Not only that, but if qualifications expire, it can lead to costly fines and even the risk of litigation.
With Driver and Vehicle Qualifications, however, organizations can eliminate the burden of maintaining records and can manage them with ease. Intuitive dashboards, AI-powered upload workflows, and easy access via the Samsara Driver App allow fleets to reduce the time and money spent tracking qualification documents. Moreover, fleet managers can receive alerts if drivers attempt to operate vehicles with missing or expired qualifications, helping to ensure continuous compliance and mitigating risk.
Driver and Vehicle Qualifications will be generally available around the globe this summer.
<div id="asset-maintenance"></div>
Outdated manual systems force maintenance teams to spend over half their time on paper and process work instead of essential "wrench time." This wastes valuable resources and obscures critical insights needed to prevent downtime.
Asset Maintenance significantly enhances maintenance operations by centralizing information and automating workflows. It allows for the creation of work orders in seconds with auto-populated data and reduces repeat shop visits through smart suggestions for outstanding maintenance, ensuring that repairs are completed efficiently in a single visit. The solution also enables proactive planning by providing a unified view of asset issues and history, thereby minimizing unexpected downtime.
In addition to a holistic view of repairs, Asset Maintenance offers deep visibility into spending, helping to uncover problem areas through comprehensive cost reporting and historical data analysis. Workflows are streamlined via native integration, automatically flowing DVIR defects directly into work orders. Finally, it harnesses AI to efficiently solve issues by providing technicians with AI-generated action steps.

Physical operations are immensely complex. Critical business processes related to safety, maintenance, coaching—even tasks like onboarding and off-boarding drivers, workers, and equipment—require constant attention and need to be done well.
Today most of these processes are managed by people using legacy tools. Operations leaders rely on individual team members to know when to start a new process, what steps to take, who to involve, and to ensure that work is done on time and to a high standard of quality. Today’s manual approach can lead to inconsistencies, delays, and a lack of auditability, ultimately impacting productivity and compliance.
Automations allow organizations to build multi-step, branching processes directly within Samsara, automating tedious tasks—like manually triaging safety events—and alerts. Safety automations are available now, and later this year Automations will offer over 40 operational triggers based on location, maintenance issues, and driving actions, as well as more than 10 automated actions, such as assigning coaching or sending in-cab audio alerts. Moreover, its no-code design provides ease of access for business users, eliminating the need for additional IT spend while improving speed, consistency, and auditability fleet-wide.
All Automations will be generally available around the globe later this year.
<div id="driver-app"></div>
Every driver is different, which is why a one-size-fits-all driver app can be a challenge. Without the ability to customize, apps like these are not only difficult to scale across different roles—like field employees, and regulated and non-regulated drivers—but they can also make it harder for users to find what they need, limiting adoption to functions like ELD compliance.
Now, new Driver App enhancements provide an intuitive, customizable, tile-based interface that administrators can tailor to each driver's specific role and responsibilities. Admins can create and assign templates based on worker type, or build fully custom home screen layouts using a centralized settings page. They can also set up new End of Day Experiences, a story-style workflow that includes a daily summary, safety event recaps, and training content, all to help drivers wrap up their day with just a few taps.
With the new Driver App, organizations can reduce friction, increase efficiency, unlock higher app adoption, and support driver engagement and retention across their entire workforce.
