Every operation has efficiency leaks, invisible ones that don't show up on a line item until after they've compounded into serious cost. When data lives across disconnected systems, fleet leaders can’t always take action in time.

Today, Samsara is announcing a slate of innovations designed to help organizations uncover those hidden costs and drive measurable efficiency gains. These features are part of our ongoing commitment to helping our customers improve efficiency and stop leaks. Watch the video for a walk-through of some of the innovative ways our tools improve efficiency, then read on to learn about the new AI-powered capabilities we’ve just announced for Connected Maintenance.

Work faster, fix smarter, and save more with AI-powered Connected Maintenance

According to research from the American Transportation Research Institute, maintenance accounts for roughly 10% of a fleet's operating budget, and too often, it's entirely reactive. Shop teams spend their days fielding breakdowns, chasing warranty paperwork, and reconciling parts inventory. The work that actually keeps trucks on the road, like proactive maintenance, optimized shop throughput, and strategic repairs, gets squeezed out by whatever broke down this morning.

Samsara Connected Maintenance introduces new, intelligent capabilities and automated workflows that handle the most repetitive, time-consuming administrative tasks. Shop managers can stop chasing breakdowns and start focusing on high-value repairs, preventive maintenance, and maximizing fleet uptime. By helping to stop failures before they happen and automating workflows from the shop floor to the back office, these new tools can help operations reduce unplanned downtime, lower cost per repair, and empower maintenance teams to finally get ahead of their workload.

AI-powered warranty claims management: Help recover significant warranty value that would otherwise be lost. Samsara now provides AI capabilities to automatically generate OEM-specific compliance checklists for covered repairs, flag denial risks in real time, and auto-draft the claim when a work order closes. This can significantly help you reduce missed opportunities and better capture the warranty revenue you may be eligible for, subject to your applicable OEM warranty terms and approvals.

Enhanced Fault Insights: Help prevent breakdowns before they start. Enhanced Fault Insights surfaces vehicle-specific insights by analyzing fault codes across the Samsara Network. Now, you have the context needed to decide how serious an issue is and how quickly to address it, helping you reduce the risk of costly roadside failures and towing fees.

Shop Planner: Manage your shop's workload with a real-time, visual board. A prioritized asset backlog tells you what needs attention today, ranked by priority from DVIRs, overdue PMs, fault codes, and predictive alerts. Turn any flagged asset into a work order in a few clicks. Less clipboard chasing, more wrench time.

PO Automation: Help reduce the stockout cycles that leave vehicles waiting for parts. PO Automation monitors inventory and groups purchase order suggestions at scale when stock falls below reorder thresholds. This means your parts arrive exactly when they are needed, reducing the hidden financial drain of vehicles sitting idle in the bay and helping to minimize the need for expensive, expedited parts shipping.

Together, these capabilities can help transform the maintenance bay from a reactive cost center into a proactive lever for uptime. They are all available to customers for early access.

Add stops live and simplify the cab with new Commercial Navigation features

Every route has inefficiency leaks hiding inside it. A new stop gets added, so dispatch calls the driver, the driver adjusts manually, and both sides end up working from a different plan. Or, a driver reaches for a consumer navigation app to avoid one more screen to manage — one that wasn't built for commercial vehicles, and can add compliance and safety risk that compounds across every route. Small friction, repeated across hundreds of routes every day, adds up to real cost.

We’re excited to announce new updates to Commercial Navigation built to stop these leaks.

Add new stops live: When a pickup is added, a delivery window shifts, or a stop gets dropped, the default fix is a manual adjustment with a phone call. With Commercial Navigation, dispatch can now insert the updated stop directly into the driver's active route, the plan updates in real time, and both sides stay aligned without the scramble. For operations running hundreds of routes a day, that translates to a measurable reduction in the coordination overhead that drains dispatch teams.

Android Auto: The routing guidance built into Commercial Navigation only works if drivers are actually using it. When the in-cab experience forces them onto a phone instead of the in-dash system they already use, adoption drops and those controls go with it. Android Auto extends Samsara's in-dash navigation to Android devices, joining the Apple CarPlay support already in place. Now, more fleets can add truck-safe navigation directly into their current in-cab setup.

These updates are designed to help control costs and keep every driver on the same plan, mile after mile. Adding new stops live is available to all users and Android Auto is available to try.
