AI Multicam complements Samsara’s AI Dash Cam to provide full visibility in and around the vehicle. The system supports:

• Real-time risk detection using AI on all camera streams with audible in-cab alerts

• Real-time driver assistance with a live, in-cab monitor feed

• Convenient incident review with access to recordings directly within the Samsara dashboard

• On-device storage that can be expanded with encrypted microSD for 500+ hours of on-device footage

Moreover, users can mount up to four auxiliary cameras as needed on vehicle sides, rear, interior, or specialized locations like lift arms on waste management trucks.

New AI detection: Pedestrian Collision Warning

To address the most critical, high-impact scenarios, the first AI detection available at launch is Pedestrian Collision Warning, supported on side, rear, and dash cameras. This innovative AI detection provides drivers real-time visual aids via the in-cab monitor and audible alerts to help avoid serious, high-liability collisions, such as pedestrians near turning vehicles and bystanders behind large buses. This sophisticated AI model can also distinguish between true risk and safe scenarios, such as pedestrians on sidewalks.
