We introduced our Documents feature earlier this summer to help fleets tackle one of the biggest challenges in their daily operations -- managing paperwork. While we started out by providing the ability to capture Proofs of Delivery (PODs), we know that managing a fleet requires managing many more types of information.
Today, we’re happy to share that we are expanding Samsara’s Documents functionality. With our latest updates, fleets will be able to:
Capture even more information with five new Document Types. Proof of Delivery was just the beginning. Now, drivers can also submit Bills of Lading, Fuel Receipts, Accident Reports, Citations, and Scale Tickets through the Samsara Driver App.
Simplify drivers’ workflow with the ability to attach documents to routes. Drivers can submit documents at each stop without ever leaving the Routes tile in their Samsara Driver App.
Keep your systems in sync with new Documents APIs. Samsara makes it easy to access the information you need, wherever you need it. Our open APIs allow you to port Documents information to your system of choice.
Capture Even More Document Types
Samsara Documents enables instant capture and retrieval of paperwork necessary to improve key business processes. With proof of delivery capture, for example, fleets can process customer invoices and payroll more efficiently.
Now, your drivers can capture additional document types, including bills of lading, fuel receipts, accident documentation, citations, and scale tickets. With instant access to these additional documents, you can improve your cash flow by accelerating processes for submitting insurance claims, reimbursements, and more.
As always, the intuitively designed Driver App makes it simple for drivers to take photos of their paperwork, enter cost details and notes, and instantly submit everything to the Samsara Dashboard.
Simplify Your Drivers’ Workflow
Many fleets already use Samsara to route drivers to the right stop at the right time. Now, drivers can submit documents without ever having to leave the Routes tile of the Driver App; documents can be uploaded and attached directly to a route stop. Once documents are uploaded, you’ll be able to view the linked up information in your Samsara dashboard.
Keep Your Systems in Sync
We know that every fleet has its own business processes and workflows, so we’ve designed our platform to be flexible to suit your needs. Whether you wish to send submitted documents to your enterprise resource planning (ERP) software or your transportation management system (TMS), our new Documents APIs help you access documents in your application of choice. Of course, you can always access every document at any time in your Samsara Dashboard.
