  • The apprenticeship pilot program was mandated by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act enacted last November. On January 13, 2022, the FMCSA published a notice providing additional information on the program, including eligibility requirements, probationary periods, and performance benchmarks.
  • CMVs used as part of the program must be equipped with certain safety technologies—including forward-facing and inward-facing video systems, such as dual-facing dash cams—and participating carriers must report certain data to the FMCSA.
