Group NICOLLIN reduces fuel consumption by 750,000 litres a year with Samsara solutions

“The Samsara platform has enabled us to take action in two key areas: reducing idle time and encouraging drivers to adopt safer, more fuel-efficient driving habits. Samsara's functionalities and awareness-raising work have enabled us to adopt eco-driving to a very high degree. This has resulted in a reduction in the average fuel consumption of our fleet of 2 litres/100 km and a significant drop in CO2 emissions.”

Pascal Vial, Transport Manager and Trainer at Group NICOLLIN

Challenge: Group Nicollin wanted to modernise its telematics and fleet management tools to improve efficiency and performance, while better controlling fuel consumption and carbon emissions.

Products: VG34 and VG54 telematics boxes, AG46 and AG51 sensors

Solution: Samsara solutions enable Group NICOLLIN to manage its tachograph data more effectively, reduce fuel consumption and provide its customers with better quality of service, while improving environmental performance.

Meet Group Nicollin

Founded in 1945, NICOLLIN is a family-owned group that offers comprehensive, high-performance services through three divisions: the Environment Division (waste, urban cleaning, waste collection centres, skip hire, etc.), the Services Division (tertiary cleaning, security, reception, renovation, etc.) and the Water Division (wastewater treatment, network works and maintenance).

Samsara’s connected platform and solutions deployed throughout 378 heavy vehicles of the NICOLLIN Environnement division's fleet not only enable operators to be even more efficient in their day-to-day work and in exploiting their fleet data, but also to save precious time – up to 3 working days a month – which means they can devote even more time to quality of service and customer relations.

Thanks to the configuration of various alerts on driving behaviour (sudden braking, excessive speed, idling, etc.) and data analysis, the Samsara platform enables eco-driving to be monitored and promoted much more effectively. Samsara's solutions save more than 750,000 litres of fuel in a year. A particularly beneficial gain, both financially and environmentally!

3 main benefits:

  • Up to 3 days/month time saved on tachograph data management

  • 750,000 litres of fuel saved annually

  • Reduced carbon emissions thanks to significantly lower fuel consumption
