A family transport company driven by innovation

La Casincaise is a long-standing operator in temperature-controlled transport to and from Corsica. A partner to the food and health industries, the company has a team of 100 employees and a fleet of 35 refrigerated vehicles (trailers, rigids and light vehicles).

With four depots in Corsica and the south of France, La Casincaise provides its customers with a high quality service despite the constraints imposed by its geographical location. “Our core business, driver-delivered distribution, takes place in a region that not only has a very high tourist season, but also a complicated road network, with many small roads and mountainous areas”, explains François-Joseph Guglielmi, Legal & Collection Director of the La Casincaise Group. “In order to be a trusted partner for our customers and provide them with an impeccable quality of service, it is essential that we can rely on operations that are connected using the most innovative and reliable tools”.

Dozens of hours saved on managing social data

The Samsara platform enables La Casincaise to centralise and simplify the management of drivers' social data. The company can monitor working hours, driving times and breaks in real time, ensuring compliance with current regulations. Integration with payroll systems also makes pay processing more fluid and improves the transparency of information for drivers, contributing to a better social climate and simplified administrative management.

“Samsara has enabled us to take the management of our social data into a new dimension. Thanks to real-time remote data feedback, we've saved a huge amount of time. Whereas we used to have to mobilise a person for a day or more to collect data manually every quarter, now it only takes a few minutes to consolidate everything automatically. All in all, we've saved dozens of hours”, says François-Joseph Guglielmi.

Remote control and monitoring of the cold chain

One of the major challenges in refrigerated transport is to ensure rigorous temperature control throughout the journey. Thanks to Samsara's connected sensors and their integration with Thermo King systems, La Casincaise can monitor cargo temperatures remotely and in real time. “Samsara enables us to be alerted in real time in the event of any anomaly in the cold chain and to intervene immediately at a distance. This proactive monitoring reduces the risk of goods being lost and enhances customer satisfaction”, comments François-Joseph Guglielmi.

Improving driver behaviour

As part of its ongoing drive to improve safety and eco-driving, La Casincaise uses Samsara's AI Dash Cams to analyse and optimise its drivers' driving. These devices make it possible to identify risky behaviour, provide accurate feedback to drivers and offer appropriate training for safer and more economical driving. By reducing incidents and fuel consumption, the company optimises its operating costs while improving road safety.
