Subscribe nowRoads are becoming more dangerous, and the cost of risk is skyrocketing. Over the last decade, fatal crashes involving large trucks have surged by 49%, while insurance premiums have climbed an estimated 40%. For modern fleet operators grappling with the complex challenges of safety, the stakes have never been higher.
To help operations leaders confront these critical challenges, Samsara is proud to announce the return of our Safety Summit Series in 2026. This year, we are expanding our reach, hosting 19 events across the U.S. and Canada beginning this March.

The Summit will bring together a powerhouse of industry voices—including Acrisure, the American Trucking Associations (ATA), Element Fleet Management, and Together for Safer Roads—to explore how AI-driven detection and automation are moving the needle from reactive monitoring to a truly proactive safety culture.
"The Samsara Safety Summit has become an essential touchpoint for our team to stay ahead of the curve," said Newel Scoon, VP of Operations at Coach USA. "Having attended in the past, the real value is in the shared exchange—seeing how others tackle pedestrian safety and coach driver behavior. It’s more than just tech; it’s about reinforcing a culture that makes drivers safer operators. Any leader looking to bridge the gap between data and real-world safety should be in the room."
To pinpoint the most pressing hurdles in the field, Samsara interviewed more than 70 fleet leaders throughout the 2025 circuit. The findings highlight three critical pillars for the year ahead:
Driver Buy-in is the No.1 Roadblock: Nearly 70% of leaders identified a lack of driver buy-in and training as the biggest roadblock to implementing new safety tools. This underscores the importance of human connection and scalable coaching programs to aid with the adoption of new safety tools.
Risk Visibility is Non-Negotiable: More than 80% of operators agree that a complete picture of risk, both on and off the road, is key to a successful safety program. This validates the industry's shift away from reactive accident response toward proactive, comprehensive risk management.
Safety is a Retention Strategy: Drivers ranked road safety as the top factor in their daily job happiness, outperforming even financial incentives. A safe driver is a satisfied driver.
