Efficiency isn't just about moving faster. Fuel waste, unclaimed warranties, and inefficient routes don't show up as single line items; they compound quietly into costs that add up.

Today, we're introducing four new ways Samsara can help you streamline fuel management, automate maintenance recovery, and optimize your daily route planning. With these enhancements, you can use Samsara to solve operational bottlenecks, reduce manual work, and drive measurable ROI across your fleet even more effectively.

1. Take real-time control of your fuel spend with our new Coast fuel partnership

Managing fuel across fragmented tools leads to reactive fraud detection, poor policy compliance, and slow, painful month-end reconciliations. When your card data, telematics, and compliance tools live in separate systems, the gaps between them are exactly where revenue leaks occur.

Our new Coast fuel card integration offers a native experience that provides unified fuel management directly in the Samsara platform. For fleets using Coast, Samsara now offers our deepest fuel card integration yet. Here's how it works:

  • Link your existing Coast account or sign up directly within Samsara. No separate onboarding required.

  • Edit Coast policies natively in Samsara, configuring precise spending limits and purchase requirements without toggling between portals.

  • The system continuously cross-references purchase attempts against active telematics data, automatically blocking transactions in real time based on GPS location, tank capacity, and policy rules.

  • Fuel purchases sync automatically into Samsara, giving managers a direct view of transactions declined due to potential fraud.

  • Drivers connect their virtual Coast card directly to the Samsara Driver App, so they manage purchases without switching between applications.

  • Once the card is connected, drivers can see preferred fuel vendors in Samsara Commercial Navigation and automatically be rerouted to the lowest-cost vendor along their route.

Now, fleets can identify and block the roughly 5% of transactions that lost to misuse, while driving an average estimated fuel savings of $30,000 per year with Coast. Everything lives in one system, cutting the time spent investigating transactions and speeding up the month-end close.

2. Reduce fuel waste with automated coaching built on context-aware driver scoring

Fuel prices are out of your hands, but driver behavior isn't. That's why getting drivers to adopt more fuel-efficient driving is critical. With context like terrain, vehicle weight, and route type, you can accurately identify exactly who is underperforming and why.

Samsara's context-aware machine learning model evaluates each driver based on their actual conditions, not a one-size-fits-all benchmark. Here's how the new Driver Efficiency Program works:

  • A guided onboarding flow helps managers configure unique baselines, such as defining "productive idling" and setting aggressiveness levels for their operations.

  • Every driver is scored against their actual conditions, including vehicle type, load, terrain, and traffic, so you know exactly who is underperforming and why.

  • Automatically coach every underperforming driver on a set cadence. Bottom performers are identified and routed in, no manual review required. Scores that drop further send a self-coaching session straight to the Driver App.

  • Managers use the Driver Efficiency Program to translate performance data into clear insights, track recovered fuel costs, and prove efficiency gains over time.

With the Driver Efficiency Program, your fleet becomes measurably more fuel efficient over time. Because scoring reflects each driver's actual conditions, managers can coach with confidence, not guesswork. And leadership can finally connect driver behavior directly to cost per mile, with projected and actual savings to prove it.

3. Recover more warranty dollars and cut shop floor admin with AI-powered maintenance

Fleets routinely pay out of pocket for work that should be covered by OEM or extended warranties. The root problem isn’t just buried PDFs—it’s that technicians don’t have an easy way to follow OEM requirements or capture the right documentation in the workflow.

Samsara connects Warranty Management and the Technician App into one continuous workflow, so every repair is automatically checked for coverage and executed in a claim-ready way.

Here’s how it works, end to end:

  • Scan or upload warranty PDFs; AI converts them into digital profiles in the Warranty Hub and links them to specific assets and VMRS codes.

  • When a work order is created, Samsara checks those VMRS codes and automatically flags if the job is warranty-eligible—directly on the work order.

  • Technicians use voice to pull work order details, locate parts, and track time—no gloves off, no hunting through portals.

  • As techs talk through updates or add notes in the Technician App, those details are logged to the work order—creating the paper trail that warranty processors need, without pulling techs off the wrench.

  • A manager or service writer marks the task as warranty-covered and submits the claim with one click. It flows into a centralized Claims Center where teams can track statuses, reimbursement amounts, and tie recovered dollars back to asset total cost of ownership.

The impact: technicians get a faster, hands-free experience that cuts admin and guesswork, while maintenance and finance teams recover warranty dollars that used to be left on the table—all inside the same connected maintenance workflow. Bramco, a Samsara customer that provides equipment and service solutions, projects that their investment in Connected Maintenance will pay for itself seven times over through warranty claims alone.

4. Build optimized routes and adapt in real time when exceptions hit

Every fleet starts the day with a plan. Yet as the day goes on, that plan is disrupted by late orders, overloaded routes, or changing service windows. Most routing tools are built only for the initial plan, not for the reality that sets in as the unexpected inevitably takes hold.

Samsara Route Planning changes that.

Now, you can optimize the day-to-day and improve the whole network over time, whether that means reducing miles, cutting drive time, or fitting in more orders.

Here's how it works:

  • The routing engine ingests fleet constraints such as vehicle weights, heights, and hazmat restrictions upfront.

  • Daily orders pull automatically from your ERP system and map visually on a clean interface.

  • Planners can use a lasso tool to draw territories, drag-and-drop tools to sequence stops, or click a button to let the system optimize orders into efficient routes.

  • Pin your high-priority fixed routes and let the dynamic optimizer fill any remaining unused truck capacity with new orders.

  • When last-minute exceptions occur, drag and drop the new order to immediately see the real-time impact on route times, total miles, and cost, with a one-click undo option.

  • The finalized plan pushes directly to the Route Execution tool and into the driver's app for commercial navigation.

Last-minute exceptions that used to take hours now take minutes. And, with routing in the same platform as dispatch and telematics, every plan gets smarter over time, without stitching together separate tools.

Serving the food service industry in the Midwest, SGC Foodservice has already seen the impact of Samsara Route Planning. “We estimate that Samsara Route Planning will save our team about a third of their routing time,” said David Fessenden, Director of Transportation, SGC Foodservice. “But the real impact is in the time gained to review routes for accuracy and make better adjustments, leading to more efficient routes, fewer mistakes, and long-term cost savings.”
