The Challenge
Manual maintenance processes left money on the table
Bramco is the financial holding company for Brandeis Machinery and Power Equipment, supporting a workforce of more than 700 employees across five states of operation. The company manages a highly specialized fleet of 300 vehicles, including 190 large service trucks critical to daily field operations. With such a significant mobile footprint, fleet performance and visibility are essential to keeping the business running efficiently and safely.
As Bramco continued to grow, fleet management processes evolved independently across their divisions. Without centralized oversight or vehicle tracking in place, leadership had limited visibility into where vehicles were, how they were being used, or how to proactively manage performance. Maintenance data was stored in legacy systems with limited visibility, making it hard to understand the drivers behind their $2.3 million annual spend and requiring time-consuming manual invoice entry.
This limited visibility extended to warranties, fuel usage, and driver safety. Without a structured system to track warranties, the company was often unaware of coverage opportunities, leading to avoidable out-of-pocket repair expenses. Fuel programs were managed separately across divisions, reducing purchasing leverage and limiting insight into fuel efficiency or potential misuse. Additionally, without telematics or dash cams, the organization had no reliable way to identify risky driving behaviors or proactively improve safety across the fleet.
"I couldn't do my job without Samsara. We went from nothing to having tracking, cameras, fuel insights, and now maintenance—all in one place. It's allowed us to be more efficient, operate more safely, and have real visibility into our entire operation."

The Solution
Scaling safety, fuel, and maintenance on one connected platform
"Samsara's continuous innovation was the big selling point for us," said Mike Bricker, Corporate Fleet Manager. "We value the constant reinvestment in the platform, new features being rolled out, and general improvements we regularly see."
The rollout began with visibility and safety, phasing in Vehicle Gateways and later AI Dash Cams across large service trucks before expanding fleet-wide. Leadership took a people-first approach—disabling in-cab audio, covering rear-facing lenses, and tightly controlling video access—to build driver trust and position the technology as a coaching tool. As adoption grew, Bramco expanded into fuel management and Connected Maintenance, bringing safety, fuel, and maintenance together on one platform.

Connected Maintenance unlocks up to $300,000 annually through warranty recovery
Bramco modernized its maintenance operations with Samsara's Connected Maintenance, gaining full visibility into service costs and eliminating manual processes. With centralized digital warranty tracking, the team is expected to recoup up to $300,000 annually in warranty claims while also informing smarter purchasing decisions based on vendor performance and downtime. AI-powered invoice scanning saves the team more than 400 hours per year, reducing processing time from 20 minutes to under two minutes per work order.

Cameras & Video
In-cab alerts and driver training help reduce speeding by 27%
Bramco transformed their safety culture by deploying Samsara AI Dash Cams across their fleet. With privacy controls in place, the company gained objective visibility into driver behavior for the first time. The footage has exonerated drivers in multiple false-claim accidents while enabling proactive coaching to prevent future incidents. Monthly speeding reports and accountability measures have driven a significant decrease in risky driving.

Telematics
Greater fuel oversight and fraud prevention across a multi-state operation
By integrating its Comdata fuel program with Samsara across 17 branches, Bramco replaced static fuel reports with a live, data-driven dashboard. Proximity Fueling and tank capacity alerts help prevent theft and flag suspicious transactions automatically. The team can now analyze MPG by vehicle model to uncover performance gaps and coach accordingly.
