Field services teams are the unsung heroes of physical operations. Whether it’s fixing broken equipment, maintaining essential services, or delivering time-critical goods, these firms work around the clock to keep the wheels of industry turning.

In many cases, success depends on getting the right person to the right place at the right time. And when you’re juggling people, vehicles, schedules, and customer expectations, operational management is key.

That’s where Samsara’s Connected Operations Platform comes into its own. With real-time visibility, automated job assignment, and instant updates from the field, our smart tools and technology not only help you stay in control, they also help to keep your people safe.

Real-time tracking transforms customer response: Midland Tyre Services – Ireland's leading supplier of truck, agri and off-the-road tyres – attends around 10,500 breakdowns every year. Since implementing Samsara, the company has halved the time spent managing its fleet and now saves an average of 20 minutes on every call-out, equivalent to 2,333 hours a year. Coupled with live tracking and improved communications, its technicians are able to respond quicker, speeding up dispatch and boosting trust in the service.

“Samsara gives us a powerful pair of eyes across our entire fleet. It’s helped us resolve issues and respond to callouts much faster. We can share tracking data through dispatch links so our customers and technicians have a clear view of the nearest vehicle responding. It’s great for transparency and having complete visibility over our drivers is a massive benefit.” Chris Parle, Chief Commercial Officer, Midland Tyre Services

Automated workflows mean faster response times and a safer, more connected workforce: Lanes Group – the UK’s largest provider of wastewater services – uses Samsara Connected Workflows to streamline daily operations and improve operational efficiency. Automated alerts allow it to speed up the replacement of equipment and minimise downtime as it responds to callouts, while integrated timesheets and telematics data provide insights into job allocation and travel time.

"Connected Workflows has transformed how we operate. We've gone from siloed data and manual processes to a unified system that enables real-time action. That's the power of automation with purpose." Mo Dawood, Group IT Director, Lanes Group

Data and automation help cut fuel use and boosting efficiency, saving thousands: Wertstoff Bader – a family-run waste disposal company in Germany – modernised its outdated telematics system with Samsara’s platform to improve operational transparency across the business. In that time, it achieved 10–12% annual fuel savings through improved routing and driving behaviour, saving thousands of euros.

“Our many years of experience have shown that modern operations are no longer conceivable without this type of digital support. Samsara has enabled us to achieve a high level of efficiency and self-protection.” Steve Neubert, Division Manager, Wertstoff Bader

Real-time safety solutions reduce risk and save millions: Leading UK electrical retailer – AO – has completely modernised its fleet operations, replacing outdated telematics with AI Dash Cams that have not only improved safety but also reduced risk across the business. In just 12 months, it’s seen accident numbers fall, leading to a 25% cut in insurance premiums and a 16% drop in overall costs. At the same time, vehicle damage claims have decreased dramatically, saving an average of 31% on annual maintenance costs.

“Samsara is central to our operations – saving us time, helping us keep costs down, and making life easier for our drivers – it ticks all the boxes.” Shaun Carter, Regional Manager, AO

More on-time, accurate deliveries – fewer redeliveries – help boost customer service: Getting fresh, high-quality produce to customers on time is at the heart of what Delifresh does. In the fast-paced world of hospitality and events, there’s little room for error. That’s why, with a fleet of refrigerated vehicles covering the country, Delifresh turned to Samsara to help keep things running smoothly. Since coming on board, drivers now have the tools to confirm deliveries and flag any issues straight away. And if questions do come up, the office team can quickly check the platform to resolve disputes. As a result, Delifresh has seen a sharp drop in redeliveries, meaning fewer wasted trips and more orders arriving as promised.

“We pride ourselves on first-class service and being adaptable to customer needs. They have constantly changing menus, concepts and suppliers, so we need to work hand-in-hand to get them the products they need, to a level of quality they rightfully expect.” Mark Heywood, Transport Manager, Delifresh

Full visibility and faster response times mean fewer claims and safer drivers: Countrystyle Recycling — a leading UK waste management company – turned to Samsara to improve safety standards and operational efficiency as their fleet expanded. Since deploying Samsara, Countrystyle has cut insurance claims by 21.6%, with 40% of claims now classified as non-fault, zero-cost incidents. The company also saw mobile phone use fall by 85%, seat belt alerts drop by 93%, and a 34% decrease in tachograph infringements. At the same time, driver safety scores improved from 76 to 92, with incident reporting times cut from six days to just over a day.

“Samsara has saved us time on a massive scale. We can handle more documents and resolve more queries in a day than we ever could previously.” Lauren Austen-Nash, Head of Fleet Compliance, Countrystyle Recycling

Coaching – not sanctions – drives safety gains:  Grundon Waste Management, the UK's largest private waste company, operates a fleet of over 300 vehicles across the south of the UK. By rolling out Samsara’s AI-led video telematics, it’s able to coach drivers rather than penalise them. Not only does Samsara’s technology provide instant feedback to drivers, it also lets them monitor their performance through a points-based system on the Samsara App, encouraging both driver engagement and self-improvement. The results speak for themselves: 87% cut in no seatbelt driving, 95% cut in mobile phone usage, 93% cut in tailgating, 86% cut in speeding, 79% cut in harsh events, and a 30% increase in driver score.

"Using Samsara, we've taken a different spin on safety events. We're celebrating the successes of our drivers and reinforcing positive behaviours, which has led to dramatic improvements in both safety and efficiency." Chris Double, Regional Operations Manager

Samsara’s data-fuelled insights totally transform road risk: With over 50 years in the equipment hire industry, UK-based Vp Brandon Hire Station manages more than 500 vehicles across 120 locations throughout the UK. The previous vehicle monitoring system created a dangerous blind spot which only activated cameras when vehicles experienced a harsh event exceeding certain G-force thresholds. This meant critical safety concerns – such as drivers using mobile phones, not wearing seatbelts, or driving while distracted – went completely undetected. Thanks to Samsara’s real-time technology, it’s seen a 93% reduction in mobile phone usage while driving, an 88% reduction in speeding incidents. and a 63% reduction in harsh driving events.

"The perception before Samsara was that we didn't have a problem. But that couldn't have been further from the truth. Samsara has totally transformed the way in which occupational road risk is managed within our business. The difference between this system and the previous system is night and day.” Antony Draper, Director of HSEQ, Vp Brandon Hire Station
