The Challenge

Inaccurate GPS data and minimal camera coverage made it difficult to hold drivers accountable or build a safety culture

Greenix is a pest control company headquartered in Orem, Utah, operating across roughly 50 metropolitan areas from the Midwest to the East Coast. With nearly 900 vehicles in the field servicing residential and commercial customers, the company runs a distributed operation managed from a central logistics team and carried out by field managers and service professionals at the local level. In the last four years alone, the company has doubled in size and is on track to double again in the next three years.

Before Samsara, Greenix relied on Geotab for fleet telematics. They found that the data was inconsistent, which made it difficult to give drivers the clear feedback they needed to adjust their habits. Without that precision, there was little incentive for the team to change their behavior. "The GPS location from Geotab wasn't granular enough for our needs," said Matthew Frost, Director of Logistics at Greenix. "It was a challenge to get a clear picture of where our assets were or how they were being handled on the road".

At the time, Greenix was using a separate camera solution, which compounded the problem. About a third of vehicles had a camera installed, and even those were not consistently operational. Coaching happened only after a public complaint or a road incident.

When Frost joined the company four years ago as fleet manager, getting accurate GPS and working cameras into every vehicle became his first priority.

The Solution

A single platform for safety, location data, and routing visibility

After evaluating several providers, Greenix selected Samsara for fleet telematics and AI Dash Cams. Samsara's AI-driven safety features, integrated video, and data reporting matched exactly the capabilities Greenix needed to build a safety-first culture. "Samsara kind of spoke our language," Frost said. "Innovative, safety-focused, and built for where we wanted to go".

Greenix deployed Samsara across approximately 500 vehicles at the time of launch, completing the full rollout in roughly six weeks. The install team coordinated around weekly Monday morning meetings at each field location, swapping out hardware while service professionals were inside. Vehicles were ready when the meetings ended. "Our operations team wants things that are going to be the least disruptive," said Frost. "We rolled out Samsara within about six weeks and had zero operational downtime."

Since the rollout, Greenix has grown to nearly 900 vehicles, all running Samsara. The platform now sits at the center of the company's safety program and fleet visibility operations.

Cameras and Video

Cutting insurance premiums and shifting from reactive incident response to proactive coaching

With AI Dash Cams installed across the full fleet, Greenix gained video evidence and behavioral data for the first time. Speeding events declined by 92% and distracted driving incidents declined by 45% within three months of implementing Samsara. Insurance premiums in 2025 dropped by 5%, when the industry was seeing 10-15% increases, a direct result of fewer incidents and lower claims costs. Samsara video has also exonerated Greenix drivers on multiple occasions, with supervisors sharing footage with police at the scene to redirect investigations.

Closing the gap between planned vs. actual routing to improve fuel efficiency

Accurate GPS data was the core requirement that drove Greenix to evaluate new providers. Samsara's GPS is so reliable that Greenix now uses it to compare planned routes against actual routes driven by service professionals. When deviations are identified, field managers address them with the service professional directly to reduce fuel waste and improve route efficiency.
