The Challenge

Limited visibility and manual processes strained a rapidly expanding operation

StreamTech Industrial is an environmental services provider specializing in industrial cleaning, hydro excavation, waste management, and environmental remediation for customers across the U.S. Operating from seven locations, the company manages a diverse fleet of pick-up trucks, semi-trucks, vac trucks, hydro excavators, and forklifts, supported by approximately 300 drivers.

Before adopting Samsara, StreamTech's vehicles were not equipped with dash cams, leaving the company without visibility into driver behavior and exposed to potential claims. At the same time, critical DOT compliance tasks, safety tracking, and driver coaching were managed with pen and paper, while maintenance relied on reminder stickers and driver follow-through rather than a centralized platform. Asset visibility was also minimal, forcing operations managers into time-consuming yard hunts for missing equipment. When StreamTech acquired United States Environmental Services (USES), merging hundreds of additional assets and employees overnight, these structural gaps were magnified exponentially.

The Solution

Consolidating safety, maintenance, and assets into one platform

To modernize and standardize their operations, StreamTech decided on Samsara as a single platform to manage telematics, safety, maintenance, work orders, and asset tracking. StreamTech then executed a comprehensive rollout, installing AI Dash Cams and restructuring their system with clearly defined tags, attributes, and user permissions. The company also deployed Asset Tag to manage high-value equipment and implemented Connected Maintenance to create a preventative maintenance program supported by digitized DVIR and AI invoice scanning. Through thoughtful configuration and phased adoption, StreamTech transformed a previously disjointed system into a centralized, scalable operational foundation.

Maintenance

30% reduction in repair costs with Connected Maintenance

StreamTech transformed a reactive, paper-based maintenance program into a connected, proactive operation by consolidating the process with Samsara. After deploying Connected Maintenance and automating vehicle inspection workflows with DVIRs and Connected Workflows, the team gained real-time visibility into vehicle health and compliance. AI invoice scanning eliminated manual data entry, while structured preventative maintenance reduced costly surprises. As a result, StreamTech cut monthly maintenance spend by 30% and invoice upload time by 93% since implementation.

$1.2 million in assets protected while eliminating yard hunts and additional rental units

After struggling with specialized equipment going missing, such as pressure washer trailers, and costly equipment rentals, StreamTech deployed hundreds of Asset Tags to gain full visibility into high-value equipment. The easy-to-install, wire-free trackers now protect approximately $1.2 million in critical assets across job sites. With geofencing alerts, managers can instantly locate equipment and prevent theft or job delays. The results are no more yard hunts, fewer rentals, and stronger operational control.

AI Dash Cams drive accountability to reduce speeding by 88%

StreamTech transformed their safety culture by rolling out dual-facing AI Dash Cams and digitizing previously manual safety processes. By combining in-cab alerts, automated coaching, and clear accountability policies, the company dramatically improved driver behavior in a short period of time. Safety scores increased by over 20 points to an average of 86, while drowsy driving events were completely eliminated. They also reduced speeding by 88%, collision risk by 71%, and inattentive driving by 52%, demonstrating their drivers have built safety habits that last.
