Then, once drivers had bought in, USCCO removed dash cam covers and established a single safety reviewer for consistent, proactive coaching. This transparent, single-reviewer coaching workflow fostered a significant cultural shift. In a high-turnover, primarily unionized workforce, USCCO moved from driver skepticism to active endorsement from union leadership, with drivers becoming advocates after the cameras exonerated them in incidents.

During a major Midwest ice storm, Samsara alerted USCCO to a significant crash at 3 a.m. Using Samsara technology, USCCO's safety team responded within 10 minutes, confirming the driver's status and coordinating a response. Samsara's real-time Crash Alerts and GPS data, dispatched automatically to a designated safety and operations group text thread, provide USCCO's storm response teams the situational awareness they need when conditions are most dangerous and communication is most critical.
