One quarter of data is a signal. Two full years of data? That provides a clear picture you can trust.

That’s how long Samsara has held the No. 1 spot on G2's Overall Grid® Report for Fleet Management: eight consecutive quarters as the top-rated platform, according to real customers who use it every day.

G2’s Overall Grid® Report is the hardest one to lead, built on customer satisfaction and market data across every company size in the category, not one segment or one narrow metric. But Samsara's No. 1 rankings aren't confined to one report or category. G2's Fall 2026 rankings show that Samsara earned:

  • A clean sweep across every segment (Overall, Enterprise, Mid-Market, and Small Business) of the Fleet Management, Asset Tracking, and Asset Management Grid® Reports; the third consecutive quarter sweeping Fleet Management, the eighth sweeping Asset Tracking, and the seventh sweeping Asset Management. Samsara also swept the No. 1 ranking on all Trucking Grid® Reports (eighth consecutive quarter) and the Fleet Tracking Grid® Report (eighth consecutive quarter).

  • The sole Leader on G2’s Fleet Maintenance Grid® Report for the eighth consecutive quarter, a reflection of how far Samsara Connected Maintenance, a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) built natively into the platform, has pulled ahead of point solutions and legacy shop software.

  • 28 No. 1 Grid® Report rankings, including 16 Grid® Reports, 10 Regional Grid® Reports, and two Momentum Grid® Reports. Motive received just three, and they are Momentum Grid® Reports, which measure headcount growth, web traffic, review volume, and social following, not customer satisfaction or results.

  • 31 No. 1 Index Report rankings for Usability, Results, Relationship, and Implementation, more than Motive's total placements across every report type combined. These indexes go beyond who ranks No. 1 overall and measure the day-to-day experience: how easy the platform is to use, how well it delivers results, and how customers rate the relationship and implementation.

Every one of these No. 1 rankings is earned through verified customer reviews and real market data. We’re grateful to each customer who took the time to weigh in and share their firsthand experience.

Consistently top-rated: Samsara’s G2 track record dwarfs every other competitor

G2 publishes dozens of Grid® and Index Reports every quarter, across every category and market segment, more than enough for any technology company to cherry-pick one good result. Consistency across two years is a different bar entirely.

Looking back across the last two years, Samsara has earned 134 No. 1 Grid® Report rankings since fall 2024, nearly 9x more than Motive. Geotab, Lytx, and Verizon Connect haven't earned a single one.

Two years of G2 data: Samsara leads by a landslide

Behind those rankings sits the review volume to back them up. Samsara's Fleet Management rankings this quarter are built on 4,225 verified G2 reviews, about 40% more than Motive's. The bigger that pool gets, the harder it is for any single vendor to point to a narrow cut of the data and call it the whole picture.

The clear choice in enterprise customer satisfaction

Satisfaction is the clearest measure of whether a platform actually performs once a fleet depends on it every day, not just how it looks during a sales cycle. It's also where the gap between Samsara and the rest of the market is crystal clear; if you look at Fleet Management satisfaction by segment, Samsara leads at every company size.

The satisfaction gap is especially wide among the largest customers running the most complex fleets:

Segment

Samsara satisfaction

Motive satisfaction

Gap

Enterprise

For the enterprise fleets running the most complex operations, that 25-point satisfaction gap between Samsara and Motive is stark. This is the fifth straight quarter that Samsara has earned the highest enterprise satisfaction for fleet management.

Enterprise customers are more satisfied with Samsara

The sole Leader on G2’s Fleet Maintenance Grid® for eight quarters and running

Look at the Fleet Maintenance Grid® Report and the field narrows even further: Samsara is the only technology company in the Leader quadrant, for the eighth consecutive quarter. Motive doesn't reach Leader status here. Lytx and Verizon Connect don't appear in the category at all.

The Fall 2026 Overall Grid® Report for Fleet Maintenance shows that Samsara earned:

  • A G2 satisfaction score of 99, compared to Motive's 49 and Geotab's 25: a 50-point gap that no competitor comes close to closing.

  • 94% of customers say the product is heading in the right direction.

  • Faster implementation time than Motive and Geotab, with a 1.5-month average go-live.

That last stat matters, because it's proof that fast implementation and category leadership aren't in tension. Samsara has both.

Why customers prefer Samsara Connected Maintenance over point solutions and legacy shop software

Maintenance eats a large share of any fleet's total cost of ownership, and it's hardest to manage when the data behind it is scattered across paper work orders, spreadsheets, and standalone shop software. Fault codes go unnoticed. Warranty claims never get filed. Costs creep up and downtime follows.

Samsara Connected Maintenance, a CMMS brings DVIRs, work orders, fault codes, vendor management, and maintenance costs into one connected system. Built on Samsara Intelligence, it helps teams spot emerging issues, prioritize what needs attention, and move from detection to resolution faster—with less manual coordination.

Fleets running Connected Maintenance are already seeing the difference:

The undisputed leader in Asset Tracking across every segment for two years and counting

Other technology companies may try to reuse outdated data or cherry-pick narrow metrics to paint a picture that they’re competitive when it comes to asset tracking. But if you look at G2’s actual Grid® Reports for Asset Tracking, it’s clear that customers are most satisfied with Samsara. Samsara swept this category for the eighth consecutive quarter, ranking No. 1 across the Overall, Enterprise, Mid-Market, and Small Business Fall 2026 Grid® Reports for Asset Tracking.

Taking a closer look, the Fall 2026 Overall Grid® Report for Asset Tracking shows that Samsara earned:

  • A G2 satisfaction score of 98, 18 points higher than Motive’s 80 and 44 points higher than Geotab’s 54.

  • Faster implementation time than Motive and Geotab, with 1.6 months average go-live.

  • 93% of customers say the product is going in the right direction.

Review volume tells the same story. Samsara's Asset Tracking rankings are built on 2,502 verified G2 reviews, nearly five times Motive's 531 and more than 37 times Geotab's 66. The bigger that pool gets, the harder it is for any single vendor to point to a narrow slice of feedback and call it the whole picture.

Why fleets choose Samsara for asset tracking: going beyond just visibility

A location pin only answers one question: where is something right now. Samsara Asset Tracking goes further. Dormancy and utilization reports flag equipment that's sitting idle, so fleets can put existing assets to work instead of purchasing more to cover the gap. Wake on Motion alerts and geofencing catch unauthorized use before an asset goes missing, and Samsara’s end-to-end theft and loss workflow helps recover it if it does. Engine hours tracking feeds directly into preventative maintenance schedules, so equipment gets serviced based on real usage instead of a calendar guess. All of it runs on the same platform fleets already use for vehicles and drivers, not a separate app bolted on for equipment.

That delivers real savings: Heath recovered a $35,000 asset in under 24 hours and eliminated a $1.5 million inventory visibility gap with Samsara Asset Tag, the City of El Paso recovered $1.3 million in assets, Bonnie Plants is preventing $1.2 million in annual equipment loss, DeSilva Gates is saving $2.34 million annually by preventing equipment delays, and Liberty Energy expects to save more than $10 million a year managing its asset fleet on Samsara.

What customers are saying on G2

At Beyond 2026 in June, Samsara announced dozens of new product innovations, including Tracking Label, a paper-thin, single-use 2x4-inch label that provides continuous near real-time location visibility from origin to delivery, without requiring carrier cooperation, additional hardware, or extra scans. New innovations also include AI Multicam detections for blind-spot and rear-collision risk, a 360-degree camera built for forklifts and other operated equipment, Coaching Priority, and continuous AI-powered ride-alongs.
