From write-off to recovery: Reclaiming taxpayer dollars through asset tracking.
Three-quarters of public sector agencies write off smaller missing equipment as an unavoidable cost. New research surveying 250 public sector leaders puts a number on that trend: 22% of new equipment purchases go toward replacing items that were lost, stolen, or misplaced, and more than half of agencies are unable to recover even half of what's stolen.
Andres Carrasco of the City of El Paso joins Samsara experts for a fireside chat. When a $1.3 million excavator disappeared from his landfill, he recovered it two miles up the road at a known chop shop with Samsara Asset Tags. What you'll learn:
Why a fifth of every equipment budget goes toward replacing what's already been lost or stolen, and where those costs hide off the books
How the City of El Paso deployed real-time trackers in just six weeks across 460 units and 81 collection routes
How to make the case for tracking to City Council and to field crews
